RULES:

Starting a Game

  • A flip of the coin determines which team starts the serve to begin the match.

  • Play begins when the whistle is blown.

  • All 4 players stand behind the baseline (service line) until the serve is hit.

  • The server starts on the deuce side and serves cross court.

  • The serve must be underhanded (low to high) but can be hit out of the air or by bouncing the ball once.

  • Only one serve attempt. If out, the other team earns the point.

  • If it hits the net and goes in, the serve is good.

  • Once the point is over the server goes to the add side and serves cross court to the receiver, then back to the deuce side and so forth until one team is first to accumulate 4 points or the score is 3-3.

Scoring

  • First team to get four points wins the game.

  • Scoring goes 1, 2, 3, 4.

  • If the score is 3-3 the receiving team decides which player will receive and the server will serve to his/her side of the court (deuce or add). Whichever team wins this point wins the game.

  • After four games are played the teams change sides of the court while staying in the same order of play. This is repeated after every 4 games until the whistle is blown ending the match.

  • The team with the most games won wins the match.

End of Match

  • The winners remain on the court but split up and each player partners with one of the two new players entering the court. The other two players exit the court.

  • A flip of the coin determines which team will start the game serve for the next match.
